Earlier this year I embarked on a challenge to read at least three chapters from the Bible daily. And it was one of the best decisions I made regarding my faith.

Reading the Bible every day doesn’t only impact your spiritual life but also your mental and emotional well-being. I have been a person who struggled with anxiety to the level where it feels crippling but since reading the bible every day; I have been more calm.

Whenever you read God’s Word, imagine Jesus teaching and instructing you. Then you’ll find studying the bible more intriguing.

Did you know that the word of God can answer many of your problems? In addition to spiritual growth and experiencing peace and clarity, reading the Bible can help with critical and comprehension skills.

Let’s dive into what to expect when reading the bible daily.

10 Things That Happen When You Read The Bible Everyday

what happens when you read the bible every day

You gain daily spiritual nourishment – Man shall not live by bread alone (Matthew 4:4)

In the same way, your body needs food, the word of God is spiritual food for your spirit.

Take a look at Deuteronomy 8:3, which says, “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

This emphasizes the importance of looking to the Bible for our daily needs. It’s not just about skimming through the verses; it’s about soaking in them and using those powerful lessons in your everyday life.

When you start reading the Bible daily, things become clearer and you’ll be able to navigate through the chaos of life.

It becomes much easier to figure out right and wrong and make choices that fit what God wants for you while being at peace.

This routine adds a whole new level of meaning and satisfaction to your everyday life.

You Build a Deeper Relationship – Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).

This is my daily prayer to have a more intimate relationship with God. We can all agree that our relationship with the Heavenly Father isn’t one-sided.

Getting closer to God will help you build a richer, more personal connection that will improve your Christian life.

Start spending time in His presence—whether through prayer, meditation, or daily reading of the Bible in this case.

James 4:8 sums this up perfectly: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

As you start taking those steps to read your bible daily, you’ll likely feel a deep sense of peace and fulfillment, as if God is right there with you, ready to share His love and wisdom.

Take a look at Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”.

Have a location in your home where you have quiet time to read your bible daily as a part of your daily routine if you desire to get closer to God.

Your Faith Is Strengthen Daily – Faith comes by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17).

One way to strengthen your faith is by reading the bible aloud. You hear the Word and at the same time, your faith is building.

If you want to build faith in a certain area of your life for instance healing then search for all God’s promises of healing and immerse yourself in it.

The more you dive into the Bible, the more it resonates with you, changing how you see things, and boosting your faith.

An easy way to get started is to have daily bible reading plans.

Hebrews 4:12 talks about how powerful this practice is: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

When you engage with the scriptures daily, you start to absorb God’s messages which become an important part of your daily life.

You Experience inner peace – Great peace have those who love Your law (Psalm 119:165).

I can testify to this truth!

The teachings from God’s word help you stay grounded when things get tough. You find that you worry less and are confident in the promises of God.

Keeping the promises of God in mind helps you feel at ease by being led by the spirit and not your flesh.

Philippians 4:7 sums it up when it states, “The peace of God, which is beyond anything we can comprehend, will protect your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”

Make it a daily habit to include the Word in your everyday life. Why?

This shift boosts your faith and impacts your Christian life by teaching you how to deal with others and make choices.

You Gain Wisdom for Life – Your word is a lamp unto my feet (Psalm 119:105).

One of the things that happens when you read the bible every day is that you get wisdom. Every day you find something new from the Word of God.

So instead of just going with your gut, you can depend on the Word of God to guide and teach you.

Think of the Word as your go-to guide when things get tricky.

When I do my daily readings of the Word of God, I always find some wisdom to help me throughout the day.

Take a look at James 1:5 – ” If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Connecting to God through reading your bible daily not only sharpens your thinking but also shifts your outlook on life.

Take Proverbs 16:9, for example—it says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that no matter how much we plan, there’s a loving Creator who’s got our back.

By spending time reading the Bible and reflecting on its messages, you’ll start to sense the Holy Spirit nudging you in the right direction.

Every time you open the Bible, it’s like flipping on a light switch in a dark room. Everything suddenly makes a lot more sense!

Getting spiritual insight isn’t just about feeling enlightened; it can seriously change how you go about your day-to-day.

Take James 1:5, for example, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

When you dive into the Word of God regularly, you’re not merely skimming through text; you’re opening the door for divine wisdom to influence every part of your life.

It’s impossible to read the Bible every day and not be reminded of God’s love and mercy. Sometimes that’s all you need to get you through a difficult time.

Romans 8:38-39 really drives this home by saying that nothing can cut you off from God’s love in Christ Jesus. This truth should never leave your heart.

If you want to start giving thanks to God the Father, start meditating upon the love of God. That’s how I start my morning prayers and evening prayers.

Imagine growing closer to God by reading the Word of God daily and now you can talk to the Lord about anything because you understand His everlasting love.

Your Self-esteem is Boosted- Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in them (1 John 4:16)

Every time you read that, it’s like looking in a mirror and seeing a more confident, self-assured you, fully aware that you were created with intention and purpose.

The Bible is a mirror where you see a reflection of who you are in Christ Jesus.

Check out Ephesians 2:10; it’s a solid reminder of who we are: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
