At the beginning and the end of each week, it’s important to look back at your week. As a Christian, the goal isn’t just to have a great week but a blessed one.
You may be wondering what the difference is. Everyone can have a productive week yet still feel disconnected from God.
The difference between simply having a productive week and having a blessed week lies in the spiritual aspect. That could include giving thanks, daily prayers and even fasting.
Ask yourself this question, what makes your week blessed?
It can be easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed out in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.
But by adding these simple practices to your weekly routine, you will set yourself up for a blessed and productive week.

Prioritize Rest and Sabbath
“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.” Hebrews 4:9-10
This is something I have been practicing. But before I go any further, let me explain what the Sabbath means.
Keeping the Sabbath refers to observing a day of rest and worship, traditionally on the seventh day of the week (Saturday in Judaism, Sunday in Christianity).
It is a time for spiritual reflection, community, and refraining from work. This practice isn’t new as it is mentioned multiple times in the Word of God.
Whenever you hear the term Sabbath it’s speaking about creation, rest, and the importance of dedicating time to God.
Even if you’re not super religious, prioritizing your faith, family and personal well-being will lead to you having a blessed week.
Smile Often and Stay Positive
Never allow the weight of the world to take your smile away. A smile can brighten your day and positively impact those around you.
When you are positive you attract people of such attributes and being positive in the face of adverse difficulties is a sign you have faith in God.
You’ll never find peace if you allow your expressions and emotions to be influenced by your day. So instead embrace each day with optimism giving thanks to the Father even when things aren’t going your way.
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
Spend time with family and friends

Many people forget the importance of spending time with family and instead focus all their time and energy on making money.
I have also been guilty of this! If you can’t meet regularly, do a quick phone call, a video chat, or have a cozy dinner together now and then.
We can all agree that spending quality time with family and friends can bring immense joy and comfort.
The laughter, shared stories, and moments of connection can lift your spirits. These lasting memories are enough to make you have a blessed and wonderful week filled with joy.
Your family can serve as a source of strength even when you are faced with challenges.
Help Someone in Need
Another way to have a blessed week is by extending a helping hand to someone in need. It could be a friend going through a tough time, a neighbor struggling with a task, or a stranger wanting assistance.
When you lend a helping hand and share some kindness, you’re not just brightening someone’s day – you’re also boosting your appreciation for life!
This doesn’t have to be monetary. It could be offering a listening ear, running an errand, or simply offering a smile and words of encouragement.
Small acts of kindness can go a long way in brightening someone else’s day and spreading positivity. As you go about your week, keep an eye out for opportunities to help those around you and make a difference in their lives.
Practice Gratitude Daily
I speak so much about gratitude because of how it changed my life. Take a moment before you go to bed to reflect on the things you are thankful for. It will make a world of difference!
It could be for the roof over your head, the delicious meals you enjoy, the cherished people in your life, or the opportunities that came your way.
Taking a moment to recognize and be grateful for these gifts can change how you see things. It can fill your heart with peace and happiness!
Make it a habit to count your blessings daily!
Set Spiritual Goals
When we hear about goals it’s usually about us and has nothing to do with honoring God. So what do I mean by spiritual goals?
Here is a list of spiritual goals you can do to have a blessed week:
- Daily Prayer and Devotion Goal: Spend a set amount of time each day in prayer and reading the Bible. A great way to help you grow closer to God.
- Scripture Memorization Goal: Memorize specific Bible verses each week and reflect on how they apply to your daily life. These scriptures could be on a particular topic or subject you want to know more about.
- Personal Evangelism: Start by sharing your faith with others regularly. This could be through conversations, acts of kindness, or invitations to church.
There are so many other spiritual goals you can add to this list like fasting and practicing forgiveness. Let these spiritual goals be a part of you and your daily life.
Also, these spiritual goals don’t take hours to do either.
Forgive and Let Go Gracefully

You may find yourself forgiving but cannot let go and be at peace. Forgiveness at times can be a process and can even take months and even years to be healed emotionally.
How does forgiving help you have a blessed week? Well, we all know harboring resentment or holding onto grudges only brings negativity into our lives and hinders spiritual growth.
Keep in mind that forgiving someone doesn’t mean you’re justifying what they did; it’s really about setting yourself free from those heavy feelings of anger and bitterness.
When you decide to forgive and move on with grace, you lighten that emotional load and allow yourself to soar!
Use a Daily Prayer Journal
Do you have a prayer journal? Who would have thought that journaling could be a way to self-discovery and spiritual growth?
A powerful way to deepen your spiritual journey and cultivate a closer connection with the Father is by using a daily prayer journal.
Spending just a little time each day jotting down your thoughts, prayers, and reflections can help clear your mind and soothe your heart.
When you journal, it’s like sharing your deepest wishes, worries, and dreams with the Father, allowing him to guide you.
Bible Study and Fellowship With Others
It’s important to be a part of a Christian community or group where you discuss and share insights into the Word of God.
See this as an opportunity to grow spiritually while building healthy bonds with fellow believers.
You’ll get inspiration, and encouragement just by engaging with other believers. Some benefits of being a part of bible study include staying accountable, strengthening your faith, and even a safe place to ask burning questions.
There is no question about it but weekly fellowship will improve your life immensely.
Final Thoughts on Having A Blessed Week
Anyone can have a blessed week even if you’re busy. You can’t go wrong when you make time for God. That could be giving thanks, reading your bible, saying your daily prayer, and showing kindness to others.
As you do this the Holy Spirit will guide you and you’ll find that you can face challenges with confidence.
By following this guide on how to have a blessed week you’ll grow spiritually and build your faith. So it’s a win-win in Christ Jesus!
